Terms of use

The rules for using The Correlation Index and its free beta, and the site's legal notice.

Last updated: 20 October 2026

本文件仅提供法语和英语版本,以下为英文版本。

1. Publisher and host (legal notice)

Publisher: Théo Coutard, individual (experimental project, no commercial activity to date), not registered, 4 rue des pinsons, 44115 Haute-Goulaine, France — theo@correlationindex.xyz. Director of publication: Théo Coutard.

Site host: Vercel Inc., United States (contact details: vercel.com/legal). Database: Supabase, hosted in Ireland (contracting entity details: supabase.com/legal).

2. The service

The Correlation Index is an independent research project, run on a personal and experimental basis, that records, from public sources, the links between financial institutions and AI model providers. The site is openly accessible; the beta (free account) gives access to additional tools.

The beta is provided "as is", with no commitment to availability or continuity. Features may change or be withdrawn at any time.

3. Account

You create an account with an email address and a password. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us about any unauthorised use. The service is aimed at professional adults (minimum age 16).

4. The data is not advice

Information comes from public sources, comes with a confidence level, and is by nature incomplete: an institution with no documented relationship is not an institution with no relationship. Indicators (concentration, single-vendor failure scenario) are computed on documented relationships only.

Nothing on this site is investment, insurance, risk-management or legal advice. You remain solely responsible for your decisions and should verify information against the cited sources.

5. Permitted and prohibited use

  • Permitted: view, analyse and export the data for your personal or internal professional use, citing the source.
  • Prohibited: bulk extraction by automated means without prior written agreement; bypassing technical limits; disrupting the service; impersonating anyone; testing the security of the service or of a third party without written authorisation.
  • Any programmatic access (API, AI-assistant connector) is subject to the stated rate limits and to these terms.

6. Intellectual property

The structure and content of the database are protected (database producer's right, Art. L.341-1 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code), as are the site, texts and methodology. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use.

You may quote figures or short extracts stating: "Source: The Correlation Index, correlationindex.xyz, [date accessed]". Any redistribution, substantial reproduction or commercial use requires prior agreement [to confirm: licence choice by the publisher].

Third-party sources remain the property of their owners; we link to them.

7. Contributions

If you send us a correction, a piece of evidence or any other contribution, you warrant that it rests on public, lawful, non-confidential information that is not covered by a confidentiality agreement. You grant us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to verify, adapt and publish it in the service. Every contribution is reviewed under our verification procedure; we may reject it. No payment is due.

8. Liability

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or availability of the service. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to direct, foreseeable damage and excludes indirect damage (loss of opportunity, profit or reputation). Nothing in these terms excludes liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or rights that the law does not allow to be excluded.

We are not responsible for the content of third-party sites we link to.

9. Suspension and termination

You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time (theo@correlationindex.xyz). We may suspend or delete an account for breach of these terms, after informing you except in urgent cases.

10. Personal data and cookies

The processing of your data is described in the privacy policy and the cookie policy, which form part of these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version is dated 20 October 2026 (version 2026-10-20). We will tell you about material changes; continuing to use the service means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, the ordinary rules of jurisdiction apply. If you act as a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections that apply to you. Before any action, please write to us so we can look for an amicable solution.
